Co-pilot vs. Perplexity

Why is the company that owns Outlook, Exchange can’t have its Copilot figure out basic stuff?

Take an example. Let’s say I want to just ask it to list all the flights that I’m supposed to take this coming week. Not withstanding the fact that it owns every collaboration tool that we are asking about, it fails. God help you if you try to create an event through that tool. It says it does it but it actually doesn’t. (If you try the same thing in ChatGPT (which is for us connected to Exchange), it works for the searching. But for creation it again it doesn’t. )

If you try the same thing in Perplexity’s Comet (a so called “consumer app”, not enterprise!) it finds the flights pretty easily. Yes, it stumbles around like a drunk intern trying to click all sorts of stuff through the “computer use” way, but most of the time it gets it. Ditto for actually creating event etc.

I think people are severely discounting the “context surface” that a browser provides. You don’t have to mess around with MCPs, you’re already logged in and it can learn / understand the context through the tabs.

Add this to the “shortcuts” that Comet has, and it is quickly becoming my go to helper.
